See Through 3D Computer Screen

Sure we’ve got our futuristic tablet PCs and 3D televisions and body-tracking cameras, but this “future” we’re living in still seems a little lacking. Maybe it’s because the present is always boring or maybe, just maybe, it’s because there isn’t any widely available, consumer-grade, holodeck-style technology out there. Probably the latter. The See-Through 3D Desktopdeveloped byJinha Lee and Cati Boulanger, former intern and researcher respectively, atMicrosoft Applied Sciences gives the old desktop PC a striking VR twist, but its not consumer-grade. Anime Nerd: 20 years Later Master Keaton Returns

Hokusei Katsushika and Naoki Urasawa's Taichi Hiraga-Keaton is one of manga's answers to Indiana Jones - a divorcé, Lloyd's of London investigator, ex-SAS, Falklands War veteran, and archaeologist. The mystery/adventure series Master Keaton ran in Big Comic Original for 18 volumes from November 1988 to August 1994, and now it's returning.

Ghostbusters 3 Without Bill Murrary Official

Dan Aykroyd has been looking to bring Ghostbusters 3 to life for over a decade, and real studio interest has picked up in the last few years. He’s got a script from The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (which apparently Aykroyd is still working on) that would see the original cast handing their proton packs over to some fresh-faced spirit chasers that can really appeal to the kids, with their Twitter and their Justin Bieber. Alas, his good friend Bill Murray(who, I’m told, is also an actor of some repute) is dead-set on playing party-pooper. Today, in an interview with the Telegraph, Aykroyd briefly discussed the film and Murray’s assured absence.  Said Aykroyd:

Today in non-cosmetic body piercings: A group of engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have created a way to control, well, just about anything (but most likely, things like wheelchairs) with a combination of a magnetic tongue piercing and a paired retainer. The user would press the tongue piercing against different parts of the retainer to send signals. Shift into neutral! Pretend like you're saying the word "lilt"!

Large Asteroid To Crash Into Earth 2040

All eyes are on the asteroid Apophis, but a new threat--just 460 feet wide--dominated the conversation at a recent meeting of the UN Action Team on near-Earth objects (NEOs). Known as 2011 AG5, the asteroid could well be on a collision course with Earth in 2040, and some are already calling on scientists to figure out how to deflect it.

Steampunk Batman Leaked Video Game Video

A couple years back Game Nerds got excited when F.E.A.R. 3 developer Day 1 Studios started work on a steampunk Batman game called Gotham by Gaslight. Concept art for the cancelled game was uncovered in January and today a gameplay video was released.

How To Train Your Dragon TV Series Trailers

DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon was one of my favorite films of 2010, and now TV Nerds are getting a TV show based on the movie called, "Dragons."  The show has been in the works for a while now, but it’s finally set to air this fall on Cartoon Network and the first trailers for Dragons have gone online. The trailers are actually interspersed with a bit of footage from the movie, but the TV scenes are pretty evident when they pop up (ie. TV animation ≠ film animation). Robert California Leaving The Office

Scranton, Pennsylvania and the offices of Dunder-Mifflin are about to get a lot less cool. EW has word that James Spader, who has been playing the perplexing and intimidating Robert California, will be leaving The Office after becoming a series regular for just one season. Spader himself decided to leave the show, and I can’t say that I blame him. This season has been wholly unremarkable despite Spader’s best efforts and mostly entertaining appearances, but the NBC comedy series just doesn’t have the heart or comedy that Steve Carell brought every week. Of course, even in the later seasons with Carell still on board, the show was beginning to lose its flare.

How To Fix Star Wars The Phantom Menace

I've never been one to out-right hate the Prequel movies.  Were they as good as the original trilogy, overall no.  But there are plenty of worse movies out there, and when compared to say...Catwoman, the Phantom Menace is a masterpiece.  But this guy has some good ideas on how to, "fix" the Phantom Menance, and with few changes actually.  Here him out below, because it doesn't sound half bad.

The Walking Dead Has Found Its Governor!

AMC has confirmed that Britisher David Morrissey (“State of Play”) will play “The Governor” in the 16-episode third season of “The Walking Dead."

The Governor, who rules the Woodbury survivors, will presumably serve as lawman Rick’s chief adversary once Shane Walsh gets eaten.

Blood Robots Keep Us Healthy

Implantable medical devices will eventually dispense drugs, get rid of blood clots and perform micro-surgeries inside our bodies, but powering them could be problematic. If the point is to have minimally invasive gadgets keeping tabs on our health, cutting patients open to swap out their batteries is not an ideal situation.

Bleach Officially Ending!

You read that right. The Bleach anime series will be ending at the end of next month, on March 27th.

The news was first found in a Japanese TV listing, and then confirmed by Bleach animation director Hiroki Takagi. Come April its Tuesday timeslot will then be taken up by a Naruto spinoff, Naruto SD: Rock Lee's Youth Full-Power Ninja Chronicle.

These are the first images of anything related to J.J. Abrams' next Star Trek movie.  It looks like Spock (Zachary Quinto) is using the ole' Vulcan Neck Pinch, and Uhura (Zoe Sladana) is standing on top of a building maybe?  It's hard to tell what's going on, because so little has been released about Star Trek 2, that I can't but these bad boys into context.

New Wrath of Titans Trailer!

I loved the original  Clash of the Titans, you know the 1980s version....no...no...no....not the one with Sam Worthington.  The most recent remake just didn't do it for me.  The only thing they got right was the look, which was spot on perfect.  But the story was garbage, and the sense of adventure was lost.

Comic Collection Worth 2 Million

It happens to the best of us, there just comes a time in a Super Nerd's life that the giant collection is just too big.  Usually we sell it on Ebay, or have a yard sale, but sometimes our collection is too big for those outlets, and this is what Michael Rorrer has discovered. 
Michael Rorrer said his great aunt once mentioned having comic books she would one day give him and his brother, but it was a passing remark made when they were boys and still into superheroes.

The Moon Is Shrinking and Expanding

In 2010, researchers discovered that the moon has been contracting over time. The shrinkage is making the moon shrivel like a raisin, creating features called wrinkle ridges all over its surface. That shrivelling makes sense, because the moon's interior should be gradually contracting as it loses the heat from its violent formation more than 4 billion years ago. Similar wrinkles have been found on Mercury.

Microsoft recently brought in the newest build of Kinect Star Wars, and we got our hands on and bodies into some of the new modes. From dancing feet to feats of destruction, Kinect Star Wars tries to cover all the bases when it comes to taking you into this epic series. While we’ve gone lightsaber to saber before and taken the checkered flag in pod racing, these new modes take the game in a completely new direction as we burn it up on the dance floor of Jabba’s Palace and take control of a rancor and try to wreck a budding empire. These new additions had us working up a sweat while having a little fun along the way.

Walking Dead Zombie Creation 101

TV Nerds have breathed a sigh of relief now that The Walking Dead Season 2.5 is back on the small screen, and one thing is obvious, zombies are awesome.  So much time is put into making the zombies look as real and scary as possible, and the people at The Walking Dead make some of the best zombies in the business. Proof of such is the fact that the TV show won an Emmy for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup last year.

Anime Nerd: Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse

A flood of new information has been revealed with a full overhaul to the official website for the TV anime adaptation of Koki Yoshimune's Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse novels. The TV series will be airing this summer and will be animated by ixtl and Satelight. The series will be directed by Takayuki Inagaki (Desert Punk, Rosario and Vampire) with Yumiko Hara doing character designs, Jin Aketagawa as sound director, and Kenji Shinohara and Rondo Mizukami as animation directors.

Tron: Uprising First Look!

BioWare has cooked up an interesting scheme to promote Mass Effect 3's upcoming launch. They're going to load up six weather balloons with free copies and set them loose across the world.
